WHY DOES SEATTLE LANGUAGE ACADEMY NEED TO FUNDRAISE?

Like most tuition-charging schools, Seattle Language Academy cannot cover all of the costs associated with providing our outstanding programs by tuition alone. We provide:

• Outstanding instructors
• Rigorous and engaging curriculum
• Multi-media equipped classrooms
• Small class size (8 student average)
• Focus on conversational proficiency

Trying to cover all our costs with tuition alone would mean significantly higher prices for all of our students. (Fifteen percent higher at current rates.) To make up the difference, therefore, between what we charge and what it costs us, SLA must engage in other fundraising activities. These include our annual benefit auction, gifts from individuals to SLA, grants from foundations and corporations, and rounding up tuition payments.

All students are encouraged to participate. Doing so will keep our costs affordable and enable a larger portion of our community to take advantage of the excellent programs we offer. While we ask you to consider making as substantial a gift as you can, full community participation means much more at Seattle Language Academy than the amount of the gift.
