David GodfreyA California native, David Godfrey
moved to Seattle in 2005 to begin his undergraduate studies and is
set to graduate in summer of 2008 with a double-major in Spanish and
French. He has traveled extensively throughout Europe and lived in
Madrid for three months, where he studied at the University of Complutense.
He joined the SLA staff in summer of 2007 and iscurrently studying
Arabic. |
Tyler LansfordTyler Lansford is the Classics
Program Director at Seattle Language Academy. He taught Latin and
Greek for eight years at the University of Washington, where he completed
his Ph.D. in Classics. He is currently writing a travelers' guide
to the Latin inscriptions of Rome for the Johns Hopkins University
Press, to be published in 2008. |
Marc MarianiMarc Mariani has lived and studied
in Rome, where he taught English to Italians and Italian to Americans.
He holds Master's degrees in Classical languages (Greek) and in Romance
languages (Italian) from the University of Washington. Co-founder
of Seattle Language Academy, Marc has been teaching languages since
1986 and is the Executive Director of SLA. |

Megan McNelisOriginally from Pennsylvania, Megan McNelis
moved to Seattle after receiving a BA in English Writing from the
University of Pittsburgh. After eight years as a City Code Editor,
she returned to school and graduated from Seattle University with
a certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Megan spent 2006-2007 as a Literacy*Americorps member, coordinating
Seattle Public Library’s ESL Talk Time program. In her spare time,
Megan loves to swim and enjoys Seattle’s thriving cinema scene. She
has studied seven foreign languages, usually in preparation for her
travels throughout Europe, China and Morocco. Megan is SLA’s English
Language Program Student Advisor. |
Laura NelsonLaura Nelson has over 20 years
experience teaching French, Italian and English as a Second Language.
She holds an M.A. in French and Italian from Middlebury College, and
has also studied in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, at the Sorbonne in Paris,
France, and in Florence, Italy. At various times, Laura has held teaching
positions in Europe, most recently in Toulouse and Marseille, France.
In addition, Laura is currently studying Korean and in 2007 spent
3 months in Seoul working and studying. She is one of the English
Language Program Coordinators. |
Janice PriceJanice Price acquired her love
of languages and cultures early in life. She grew up bilingually/biculturally
in both Austria and the U.S., has traveled and studied in Germany,
France and Spain and most recently expanded her horizons toward Asia
by living and teaching in Japan for six months. She holds a B.A. from
Stanford University in German and an M.Ed. from Westminster College,
Utah. She has over 20 years teaching experience with all ages and
levels of German, French, Spanish and her current specialty, English
as a Second Language. Janice is one of the English Language Program
Coordinators. |
