|
The Humanities program at Seattle Language Academy ('Humanities Workshops') is designed to provide lifelong-learners with a spectrum of continuing-education options that are typically available only in a university setting. The heart of the program is a curriculum in literature in translation. This curriculum aims at making a broad range of world literary, religious and intellectual classics accessible to a general audience by presenting the literature in English translation under the guidance of academically qualified instructors. The workshops are designed for a non-specialist audience and have no prerequisites. In addition to offerings in literature, the SLA Humanities program will feature general-interest classes on various aspects of world artistic, cultural and intellectual history.
INSTRUCTORSThe instructors in Seattle Language Academy´s Humanities Workshops are either working scholars or hold an M.A. or Ph.D. in the relevant academic field. Instructors are selected for their expertise, their love for their field of intellectual endeavor and their commitment to adult education in the humanities.
