HOST AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

Housed on the University of Washington campus, FIUTS welcomes hundreds of new UW international students to the Seattle area every year. Friends and students of SLA are cordially invited to attend from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. to meet FIUTS staff and volunteer host families. Please contact Alicia van der Veen at alicia@fiuts.org to attend, or visit www.fiuts.org to learn more about hosting a student.

HOMER’S ODYSSEY

‘Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story
of that man skilled in all ways of contending,
the wanderer, harried for years on end,
after he plundered the stronghold
on the proud height of Troy …’

For more information please read the course description. Registration can be done online, via phone, or in person.

CAFÉ BABEL NOW OPEN

With Café Babel, Seattle Language Academy envisions a vibrant addition to its ‘campus’ life – English students flocking to the café before and after class in the morning; foreign-language students animating it at night; and the SLA staff, the school’s neighbors and surprised passers-by dropping in at all hours of the day. We are very excited about the café’s potential for enhancing the sense of community at SLA, and are delighted at the simple convenience for our staff and our students of having such a wonderful establishment on site.
